Bird Watching in Your Own Backyard If you like to watch the flitting, playing and fanciful nature of birds, bird watching in your own backyard can truly be amazing. It's remarkable just how many different kinds of birds you can see. If you haven't noticed many birds in your backyard, there are some things that you can do to attract them. With a couple of great bird houses, different bird feeders and bird baths, it won't be too long before you've got some special visitors. You can find various bird feeders on the market, and you will find that many of them can be put into three different categories. There are tray feeders, tube feeders, and hoppers. Tube feeders are cylindrical, with a landing place at the opening where the bird seed is accessed. Tube feeders are perfect for various types of seed, just as long as the hole is big enough for it to come through. Hopper feeders will appeal to birds that may be cautious about tube and tray feeders. For birds that are smaller, tray feeders are ideal. If you truly don't care which types of birds are attracted to your backyard, and you'd prefer to enjoy and watch any birds that come, you can buy a general bird seed. Most seed attracts many different kinds of birds, because it has many kinds of seed. If you want a certain type of bird to visit your backyard, you will want to include a seed or food that's a favorite of that specific species. If you want to put a birdhouse in your backyard, there's a real chance of a bird nesting in it. Not only will they visit from time to time, but if it feels comfortable and snug, they could choose to make it the place to lay and hatch their eggs. This would truly be delightful since you might even get a look at the baby birds every now and then, or when it's time for them to learn to fly. A birdhouse is not only a place the birds will like, but it is a gorgeous backyard decoration as well. Naturally, there are different types, shapes and sizes of birdhouses, and the one you decide on is going to depend on upon your particular taste. A bird bath is a wonderful thing to add to your backyard if you would like more birds to visit. They love splashing in the water, and as long as it's kept clean, they'll love it even more. You can choose from bird baths that are traditional, or you could opt for something a little different, like a fountain that's solar powered. Bird baths with moving water are attractive to birds that wouldn't commonly come to your everyday fountain, including thrushes, robins, humming birds and warblers. Birds particularly like moving water, and it easily attracts them. Bird baths also look amazing in your garden. There are some people love bird baths because they cause birds to come closer than they customarily would. A bird bath is a wonderful opportunity to take some beautiful photographs, and just enjoy the company of the birds. Adding these three things easily can help make your backyard a little bit more appealing to birds. There are a couple of other easy things you can add, like crevices and openings so the birds can hide, and sweet-smelling flowers. If they feel secure and safe in your yard, they're going to stick around. Have a fantastic time backyard bird watching!
