Laser in-Situ Keratomileusis, or more widely known as "LASIK", is quite better than many other forms of laser vision correction based on that the procedure utilizes a protective layer of corneal tissue over which the surgery is performed. ABOUT THE LASIK PROCEDURE Eye drop anesthesia numbs your eye and a holder prevents you from blinking during the procedure. LASIK utilizes an instrument called a microkeratome to make a small "flap" in your cornea. You may feel some pressure but no pain is produced by using the microkeratome. You will be looking at a light during the procedure. The flap will be folded back in place without any need for stitches. Your eye will heal itself from this small incision.
